Amendment to Existing Special Use
Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. by the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Village of Barrington Hills, concerning an application filed by Al-Azhar Islamic Foundation, a non-profit organization, which is seeking to amend its existing Special Use Permit which allows operation of a place of worship at 160 Hawthorne Road, Barrington Hills, IL PIN 01-15-200-014. The amendment will allow for the construction of a multi-purpose interior prayer and assembly space.
The agenda will provide the link for participation and will be posted no later than the end of the day September 26, 2025 at vbhil.gov. Written comments on the application will be provided to the members of the Zoning Board of appeals but will not be made part of the public record of the proceeding. All written comments should be mailed/emailed to the Village Clerk to be received by 3:00 p.m. September 26, 2025.
A copy of the application is available for examination by appointment at the office of the Village Clerk at Village Hall during hours of operation. All interested parties are invited to attend the Public Hearing and will be given an opportunity to be heard.
