PUBLIC NOTICE

Consolidated Election to be held April 6, 2027

To The Residents of The Barrington Hills Park District Cook, Lake and McHenry Counties, Illinois

Elections will be held to fill the following office:  Park District Commissioner

Number of positions: Three (3)  

All positions are for a four-year term

The candidate services provided here will assist prospective candidates locate the information and forms required to run for office.

Information contained within this section is for informational purposes only. Candidates are advised to seek appropriate legal counsel for any campaign issues. 

Candidates must file their certificates of nomination with the Barrington Hills Park District designated representative.

Petition Circulation Period: August 25, 2026 – November 23, 2026. Petitions may NOT be circulated prior to August 25, 2026

The filing of nomination petitions will be accepted at 361 Bateman Road, Barrington Hills IL 60010, in the Riding Center’s Meeting Room, November 16, 2026 through Monday November 23, 2026.  Office Hours will be posted here and on the online calendar.

Petitions may be filed in person by the candidate, a representative, or by mail to: Barrington Hills Park District, 364 Bateman Road, Barrington Hills, IL 60010. Nomination papers received in the mail before the first day of filing period will be returned to the sender as not filed.

“The CAG is a collection of community representatives and serves as the focal point for the exchange of information between government entities and the local community. The CAG is made up of representatives of diverse community interests, local government officials, community representatives, property owners and residents, and stakeholders with technical expertise. The CAG assists IDOT in making better decisions on transportation related projects that benefit the community and environment. Members are invited based upon who they represent with the goal being an even distribution from each interest area.

The application window for the Community Advisory Group is now closed.

Last, it’s unclear if the current Village Roads & Bridges Chair (A.B.) was invited to the meeting. We highly doubt it (for obvious reasons).

“The Riding Club of Barrington Hills is pleased to partner with the Barrington Hills Park District, The Fox River Valley Pony Club and The Fox River Valley Hounds to host a Halloween Horse Show and Community Celebration at the Barrington Hills Park District Riding Center.

In addition to mounted and unmounted competitions, we will have cider and chili for our guests ($10 recommended donation), Apple Bobbing for Horses and Horse Trailer or Trunk Trick ‘o’ Treat Parade. Horse & Kid Friendly Costumes encouraged for all in attendance.

NOTE: Classes may be split or combined based on entry numbers

Braiding and show attire optional. Helmet required.

$10 for day stall – must be cleaned before departure

Costume Class: open to ALL ages, mounted or lead line. Bring your Halloween spirit & creativity for fun prizes

Horse Husband: get your supportive partner in the saddle to show off what they know!! Fun flat class. 21+ prizes

Derby: consists of a mix of stadium and cross country jumps (class supported by FRVPC on the grass field)
