I think it was the scaring of parents that books exist that are not for them or their golden children, because of their children might really need that guidance that the parents aren’t giving to them.
Just a thought.
Pritzker? I guess losers were students and parents
Teacher’s Unions know how to get out the vote, and they are tenacious and passionate about maintaining control of their wages, benefits and woke ideology. Too many residents are lazy and don’t vote, including area residents who go south for the winter and don’t bother to get absentee ballots. So, the crazies continue to run the school board.
With all do respect Andrew Wright, what do you really know about District 220? My immediate family has had a significant role for over 50 years in building the district in to a Blue Ribbon Award winner. There are countless wonderful, strong, articulate and kind people in District 220 who’s only objective is the nurturing and educating of our young people. Your words are reckless and without merit. Unions are in place to protect teacher’s best interest. Period.
“With all DUE respect…”
“…kind people in District 220 WHOSE only objective…”
“Unions are in place to protect TEACHERS’ best interestS.”
A big Blue Ribbon to you Christopher!
Just because you don’t run in the same circles doesn’t mean Andy hasn’t been a part of the Barrington community and what has made & kept it a great place to live, Chris. The comments of Andy are not reckless, they are what 50% of the community believe. And, if a good chunk of our community members weren’t ineligible to vote because they have taken on the cloak of protection from Illinois’ failed policies by becoming residents of Florida, this election would have tilted the other way. Similarly, it would likely have tilted the other way if Munoz had not been in the race. What Don and other former administrators should recognize is they have burned a lot bridges by their 11th hour endorsement of the ‘progressives.’ So much for a united Barrington. Don, Jim, and the others never attended any of the Action PAC candidate meet and greets, never took the time to get to know those candidates or to listen to the reasons behind their campaigns or the concerns of their supporters ~ many of whom, by the way, are people with over 50 years of commitment to this community who trusted Don to educate their children. The trust has been lost and that is what good educators, Don, Jim and the others, should have focused on. Instead, they have contributed to the division. That was shortsighted.
I’m not blaming anyone. Facts are facts. The numbers speak for themselves and it is evident that this election was very close and very divisive. Just like the last one. D220 and the Barrington area are not united under a common interest. Barry, Leah as well as all of the other fake independent candidates participated in that division and did their best to stoke the flames. My comment was directed at the very false statement that Andy somehow has an inferior knowledge of the Barrington community than he, Christopher Thompson, does. My assumption, given the last name and characterization of time in the community, is that he is Don Thompson’s son. I am incredibly disappointed in Don‘s decision to infiltrate himself into this election. Particularly, where I know he did not participate in any attempt to get to know the other candidates. Shameful. And I consider Don a friend.
Also, with respect to the comment made by Andy of residents not voting, in Lake County there were 56,291 ballots cast and there are 466,223 registered voters. Yes, lazy!
