Attendees of last night’s Board of Trustees were treated to a very rare experience: all seven (7) members of the current Barrington Hills Board of Trustees were in attendance up close and personal. The last time a sighting like this occurred was the May 8, 2023, BOT meeting to certify results of the April 4, 2023 Consolidated Election (a photo of the event captured above).
Last night, the board unanimously voted to approve Kyle Murphy as the next Chief of Police for the Village of Barrington Hills. The board also voted 6-0 against a proposed ordinance amendment to a allow Agritourism as a special use. President Cecola did not cast a vote.
Recordings of the meeting will be posted when they become available.

Past & present Plan Commission members were against this proposal. The BOT was clearly against it but two members of the ZBA were/are in favor of commercial businesses operating from dawn to 8pm in our RESIDENTIAL community.
What the fock are they thinking?
“President Cecola did not cast a vote.”
Disappointed. Why did Cecola withhold a vote? Don’t you want residents to know you’re protecting the village from commercialism? I don’t get it?
Also disappointed in 2 of the ZBA picks. Fingers crossed the next appointments are thought through to those who’ll protect our zoning over surrounding yourself with a friends circle.
Get rid of “weather vane” Cecola!
Sad, They have worked hard to
Make something fun and beautiful in BH.
It’s still, beautiful, Tracy. But for the owners and their non-paying guests to enjoy. We’re a residential community. Do you want tours coming up your road to enter your neighbor’s agri-tourism commercial business? That’s what this allows for. With little oversight.
They worked hard to violate the home occupation ordinance and try to make agri-tourism an easy thing for homes in BH. Busses, tours, sale of merchandise… Their property is beautiful & fun, just as yours is, to their friends and neighbors who are invited to enjoy it without requiring an entrance fee. We are not a commercial community. We are residential.
