The Barrington Countryside Fire Protection District Board of Trustees has posted their agenda for their January 18th monthly meeting.  The meeting begins at 6:30 PM this evening at 22222 North Pepper Road, Lake Barrington, and a copy of the agenda can be viewed here.

One of the agenda items indicates the board will consider, and possibly approve, moving their dispatch services from CenCom E 9-1-1 to Arlington Heights-based Northwest Central Dispatch System (NCDS).  If approved, the switchover would occur in early 2017.

NCDS handles dispatch services for fire protection in Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Elk Grove Village, Hoffman Estates, Mount Prospect, Palatine, Palatine Rural Fire Protection District, Rolling Meadows, Schaumburg and Streamwood.

Barrington Hills, which represents a significant portion of the BCFPD’s coverage area, recently partnered with Carpentersville-based QuadCom for 911 police dispatch services in 2015.  QuadCom also handles dispatch services for other fire protection districts serving parts of Barrington Hills, including Carpentersville and East Dundee, as well as close-by districts in West Dundee and Rutland Dundee Township.

South Barrington, which is primarily covered geographically by BCFPD and East Dundee, also uses QuadCom for their police dispatch.

BCFPD Trustees will also continue their discussions of an ordinance establishing a “Pension Fund Board.”
