Old Sutton Road will be closed to through traffic from 9:00 AM, June 24th, through the 28th between Penny and Higgins (Route 72) Roads for grade crossing improvements to the Canadian National Railway (EJ&E) line.

The Barrington Hills Park District announced earlier today that the indoor riding arena will be closed to the public this Saturday and Sunday, May 4th and 5th, from the hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM for a, “Brad Andrews Horsemanship Clinic.”

An active shooter drill, which will not involve students who are on spring break, is set from 8 a.m. to noon Friday, at Barrington High School, officials announced.

Barrington police and fire personnel will conduct the drill in conjunction with Barrington Area Unit District 220 employees. Officials said passers-by should not be alarmed if they see significant police and fire activity, including helicopters near and around Barrington High.

The Village of Barrington Hills has issued the following announcement:

“DUNDEE LANE WILL BE CLOSED beginning Monday, December 17th to replace a culvert under the road. If all goes as planned, the road is anticipated to open Thursday, December 20th.

No through traffic will be allowed. Residents may access their drives via the Dundee Lane entrance closest to their homes. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation.”

ROUTE 14 CONSTRUCTION UPDATE –  November 20, 2018

“As you begin your Thanksgiving travels, keep in mind that construction and paving still continues on Route 14 through Barrington.

We just received an update from IDOT, which still has two full days of paving left to do. Cold temperatures stopped work for today, but they are anticipating working tomorrow and then early next week in order to complete the paving portion of the project. Final striping of the road will follow.

The Village thanks you for your patience; as this is an IDOT project we have not had control over the timing and completion.

This Sunday September 30th from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., the Village is holding the 6th annual The Hills Are Alive Festival at the Barrington Hills Park District Riding Center, 361 Bateman Road.  The free event will go on, rain or shine, with attractions being moved inside the indoor riding arena in case of inclement weather.  Below is a press release from Village Hall.

“For the 6th year, Village of Barrington Hills is hosting a Community Fall Festival. This year’s event promises to be another spectacular day! 

Whether you are new to our community, a longtime resident or a friend from a neighboring village,  this is the perfect opportunity for camaraderie, meet ‘n greet,  and simply enjoying fun, food, attractions and entertainment to satisfy all ages.

New draws this year are the Climbing Rock Wall, Dunk Tank, Equestrian Drill Team & Barrel Racing, Blacksmithing Demo, Interactive Animal Show, Make Your Own Ice Cream–just to name a few.  Check out the full listing below with the associated times.
