Deerfield School District 109 administrators forced teen girls at Shepard Middle School to change in front of a boy in the school locker room.
That’s according to parent testimony heard during public comment Thursday’s District 109 School Board meeting.
After receiving a complaint from girls in early February that a boy was in their locker room while they were changing for gym class, District 109 “Assistant Superintendent for Student Services” Joanna Ford, “Assistant Principal” Cathy Van Treese and “Director for Student Services” Ginger Logemann reprimanded the girls, then escorted them to the locker room and tried to force them to change in front of the boy.
Parent Nicole Georgas, whose daughter refused and ran out of the locker room, described her daughter’s experiences to the school board Thursday.
“The male student was present in the girls locker room,” Georges said. “Feeling violated, the girls made the choice not change into their PE (physical education) clothes with a biological male present.”
The next day, Georgas said, Ford, Van Treese and Logermann tried to bully them into to changing in front of the boy.
“(The administrators) all came into the girls locker room, making them change into uniform. This went on all week,” Georgas said. “My daughter refused to take part in her privacy being violated. How dare they!”
She said Shepard School Principal Rob Wegley told her daughter that any male student can use any girl’s bathroom or locker room at his school so long as they say claim to “identify as female.”
Georgas said Wegley told her this was the school policy as dictated by Ford and “legal counsel.”
Georgas said she has filed a civil rights complaint on behalf of her daughter with the U.S. Department of Justice.

This is disgusting! I just saw this on the national news. I suggest your FIRE these “teachers”. America has no room for criminal activity such as this. These “teachers” are in violation of Federal and State statutes. BOYS ARE BOYS! GIRLS ARE GIRLS! CONFUSED ARE CONFUSED and in need of council.

I would say the Parent’s need to have have the town arrest the people and charge them with endangerment of a minor to face jail time and lose their job as well as put on the pedifile list as sex offender!

The Equity 220 initiative says “Barrington 220 is focused on ensuring that we are reaching and engaging disenfranchised people in our schools and community and helping them express their voice.” D220 views transgender kids as “disenfranchised people” and they will overide girls privacy and safety in the name of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
Charge administrators. They can’t force anything. Then let girls change in female reachers bathroom, because those teachers and admin shouldn’t have private bathrooms.

Administrators need to be fired and charged with violating federal law.
A civil lawsuit seeking damages (starting at $50 million dollars) needs to be filed against the school district.
Federal dollars provided to the school district needs to be ended.
Take these women into the men’s locker room and shame them into getting undressed in front of male-bodied people. See how that makes them feel.

We have women’s bathrooms and women’s sports for a reason. Sexual identity disorder is listed on the DSM 5 mental illness and the only mental illness that has been now listed in the diversity equality and inclusion aspect of the left to feed into the illness. Our daughters have the right to privacy and safety. Denying biology and science as a form of a political issue is insane. We have laws to protect our daughters and women’s rights for a reason and the left loves to pick and choose what laws they will follow. I hope the DOJ investigates and at minimum they loose their federal funding until the protect our girls and follow the law!
Many are wondering what Sandra Ficke-Bradford and Erin Chan Ding think of this controversy, or if they find what’s occurring in Deerfield locker rooms controversial at all. Their liberal positions at 220 are well known/documented, so before tax payers vote I for one would like to know their positions.
From experience I believe they would have no issues whatsoever since they strictly follow the guidance of their leader, the dishonorable fat bastard JB Pritzker.
Have them strip in front of 3 grown men , all together . Then take the stall doors off the bathrooms and let the middle school boys in to watch them . After that FIRE THEM! What is it with these teachers who think they have total authority with school kids !
I would pull my child from that school and then sue to get the teachers fired. I remember the discomfort of changing with GIRLS I didn’t know. Some girls were already developing and I was beyond uncomfortable. I did whatever I could to hide myself. I cannot imagine the horror of a boy in the room. This is voyeurism. These girls are going through puberty. They aren’t comfortable in their own skin! This is completely unacceptable no matter how you frame it.
Personally the three teachers should be fired immediately, I’m more disgusted with the school board, a bunch of cross dressers saying girls do better academically if they strip in front of boys? Many of these girls have probably attended school with this boy since Kindergarten. They will ALWAYS see this person as a boy. No matter what the trans person is feeling. This is like being publicly raped.

Please let me finish my reply. In all seriousness I know many people in the state of Illinois are good people and do not condone this perversion that occurred at that school. Those teachers should be fired immediately, and the DA should file charges against them for child endangerment. Then the parents should file a civil lawsuit against the school district for its complicity in the manner by allowing boys who identify as girls use girls restrooms and dress in girls dressing rooms.
Please vote in your local elections. Early voting starts March 17 and runs through March 29. Election Day is April 1st. We need voices on the school and library boards that will stand up to these antics. These things are happening in Barrington 220. It was not that long ago that Ficke Bradford, Ding, Altshuler & Lazzari voted for Gender Queer in our schools. A book with very graphic illustrations of sexual conduct. I don’t care if it’s heterosexual or homosexual, there’s no need for books with pictures of strap ons, bj’s, discussions of tasting bodily secretions, etc… in our libraries. While Altshuler may have wished there were books like that when he was a child, whether to allow your child to read such material is between you and your child, not your school board member, librarian and your child. PLEASE vote! These elections are won and lost by the smallest margins. We need to equalize the school & library boards with people who believe in parental rights. Vote Karam, Stern & Wang ONLY for school board and Matta & Bosnick ONLY for library.

As a concerned parent in Barrington School District 220, I am deeply troubled by the repeated decisions of certain board members to prioritize ideology over parental rights and student well-being. In August 2022, board members Erin Chan Ding, Sandra Bradford, Leah Collister-Lazzari, and Barry Altshuler voted to keep Gender Queer—a book containing sexually explicit illustrations—in our school library, despite widespread parental concerns. A month later, in September 2022, these same board members voted to retain Flamer and This Book Is Gay, both of which contain graphic content that many parents find inappropriate for school settings.
This issue extends far beyond books. It reflects a broader push to implement policies that disregard parental input and student privacy. Just look at what recently happened in Deerfield School District 109, where administrators forced girls to change in a locker room with a biological male present, leaving students feeling uncomfortable and violated. When school officials push radical policies under the guise of inclusivity—without regard for the rights of all students—we end up in situations where young children are forced to compromise their privacy, dignity, and personal boundaries.
Parents have every right to question these decisions and demand accountability from our elected school board members. Schools should be places of education, not platforms for ideological agendas that override the voices of families and dismiss legitimate concerns about child welfare. We must stand together and ensure that our district remains a place where students are safe, respected, and free from politically motivated policies that force controversial views onto our children. Transparency, parental involvement, and respect for all students’ rights must be the priority.
D220 has even removed school board meeting videos from their YouTube account—why? What are they trying to hide?
We must demand transparency and accountability. Elections matter, and it’s time we hold these board members responsible for decisions that undermine parental rights and our children’s well-being.
