For the second time in a month, Barrington Hills Trustee Darby Hills on Friday was named the new state senator for the 26th District.
Republican Party leaders representing various parts of the district chose Hills to succeed Republican Dan McConchie of Hawthorn Woods, who resigned Feb. 2.
The same GOP group first selected Hills for the job Feb. 14 from a field of four applicants, but the appointment was challenged in court by an Algonquin woman who claimed that meeting wasn’t properly advertised to the public.

The FAAD’s in Springfield will be pleased!
“Lake County Republican Party Chair Keith Brin, who led the legislative committee that met Friday, subsequently appointed Hills to an open Republican precinct committee post in an effort to boost her GOP bona fides…” 🤣🤣🤣 Are you kidding me?! He needed to boost her GOP bona fides?! What about the legitimate and unquestionable bona fides of other candidates, Borawski, McLaughlin and Ufodike, that needed no boosting??? What the heck is swimming around in Brin’s head?!
If Dinky made some of these “men” hot and bothered enough that they had to “have” her, then why didn’t McLaughlin get moved into the senate seat and appoint her to state rep? Is this too logical?
It’s been said Brin, Lerario and Del Mar were seeking a unique candidate after Dan McConchie announced he was stepping down.
Andy Cohen might have been the better plan here. Sad and embarrassing.
Well they got different alright. Logic for those boys about saline Sally would never go together. And I do mean boys. Isn’t there a minimum IQ required to interview people. Please release the questions to the general public from all candidates. I’m sure the question were hard hitting, fair and equitable across all participants.
