Our Village Board of Trustees will be holding a special meeting beginning this evening at 6:30 PM. The purpose is to certify the results of the April 4 election and to vote on Board responsibility assignments as follow:
- John Carpenter Clarke: None
- Laura Ekstrom: Environment, Roads & Bridges and Equestrian Commission
- Darby Hills: Building & Zoning and Plan Commission
- Jessica Hoffman: Health
- David Riff: Municipal Buildings & Grounds and Public Safety
- Thomas Straus: Finance, Insurance and Village Personnel
Also, President Cecola is nominating David Riff to be President Pro Tem. A copy of tonight’s agenda can be viewed here.
Seems the first lady’s not pleased with one of the newly elected based on the (lack of) assignment…
Interesting selections. Why is Cecola dissing Clarke? Of the group, Clarke has the most credentials. He’s the only one born and raised in Barrington Hills, his father-in-law served honorably as a trustee of the Village, his father served honorably as a prosecutor for the Village, and he is a successful business man. This is very shortsighted of the new administration.
Cecola is a moron.
What’s going on with Personnel? Used to be that decisions related to new employees were discussed openly and Personnel Committee met under Konicek in public. Recently it appears the Building Dept., which ran very efficiently under Panos as a part time position, has seen a revolving door of employees and has doubled the hours spent in prior years. None of these hires have been discussed publicly. Most recent being Hawking. Now there are 2 employees in the Building Dept.? In addition to the contract employee they bring in?
