Two residents braved the sub-zero weather conditions that night in order to make public comment to the board. We highly recommend readers listen to both of these comment recordings.
We also encourage residents to listen to the Roads and Bridges report recording. Issues related to the statuses of the Longmeadow Parkway project and Algonquin Road improvements were discussed. A direct link to that recording can be accessed here.
The Administration discussion also proved interesting as it appears Trustees may no longer be authoring their own messages to residents in future Village newsletters. This topic preceded dialog of the apparent inability of the Communications Committee (nearly nine years after its creation) to relay timely information to residents beyond a woefully neglected information website and infrequent newsletters.

Dear Mayor McLaughlin,
I have just finished listening to the audio aspect of the last BOT meeting and am more than appalled at the inferences Trustee Gohl makes towards the end of the meeting about me. This inference is in regards to the continued flooding and contamination of my property and also unanswered foia requests. There was discussion about my property that should not have taken place without my knowledge or input. So you will certainly get it now.
Mr. Gohl makes the inaccurate statement that I should ‘do my due diligence’ when I purchased my property. As a matter of fact I did my due diligence. As Gohl is well aware, the flooding of my property began in 2009 when St. Marks and the Micek’s altered the terrain of their land to alleviate their flooding and subsequently directed their stormwater, septic overflow etc. onto my land. The septic at 335 Ridge has been in violation of local ordinances for years – the cover up by the former administration not to enforce this violation is unconscionable. I believe you were a trustee then also Gohl. To infer I was derelict in my duties when I purchased my land is untrue, rude and uncalled for – therefore I will provide additional information for the next board meeting as well as photos for documentation to dispute the inappropriate remarks of Gohl.
During the next bot meeting, I expect an apology from Gohl at that time and you as Mayor – should insist on the same. The continued mistreatment by trustees, village employees, etc is more than well noted.
