“Dear Barrington 220 Community,
Throughout the week we have been closely monitoring the weather forecast. As you are aware, we are anticipating a significant winter storm over the next couple of days. The current forecast indicates snow accumulation, high winds and dropping temperatures as the day progresses on Thursday. In order to keep our students and staff safe, we have decided to implement early release schedules throughout the district on Thursday, Dec. 22. Transportation will be available for our students.
Dismissal Times:
- Early Learning Center: 10:30 AM (AM classes); (PM classes are canceled)
- Barrington High School: 11:45 AM
- Barrington Transition Program: 11:45 AM
- Elementary Schools: 1:30 PM
- Middle Schools: 2:30 PM
All after school programming, day care (KEEP) and activities for Thursday afternoon are canceled. This decision is based on current information and we are continuing to monitor weather conditions. If the forecast changes significantly and additional steps (e-learning) are necessary, they will be communicated via email, our district website and social media channels.
We acknowledge the inconvenience any adjustments may cause, and we appreciate your understanding of our need to put the safety of students and staff first.”
