Hoffman Estates officials voted 4-2 Monday to move forward with preparations for a possible tax incentive for a largely residential development on 185 acres at the northwest corner of routes 59 and 72 that also would include some businesses near the intersection itself.

This shout out goes to all of you Abboud supporters who criticized Steven D’Amore and I when explaining the importance of feathering as an effective zoning tool for VBH borders. Remember that 2011 campaign!
Had the Iatorola property remained in VBH (which is what they wanted to do) rather than disconnect to Hoffman Estates, VBH would have saved Millions of Dollars in legal fees on the Sears litigation and had a border which at worse would consist of high end town homes and a strip mall.
Don’t say Steve and I did not tell you so because we did. Abboud’s and Save 5 Acres defense to this disconnection action was a claimed surface waterway vital to our underground water system which the trial Judge in so many words called preposterous.
If you want a laugh, until you read the tax monies wasted, read the Iatorola disconnection lawsuit appeal I promise you will be again disappointed by prior VBH leadership.
AND THEY CALL THEMSELVES “SAVE 5 ACRES”!
