If you believe the maxim that all politics is local, April 9 is the election for you.
In Barrington Hills, where heated debates over the regulation of commercial horse-board and outdoor lighting levels have raged for the past few years, the only surprising thing was that most candidates held back until the final hours of the filing period to declare themselves.
Candidates running for office in Barrington Hills are:
Village president
- Robert Abboud (i)
- Martin J. McLaughlin
Trustee (Three 4-year terms)
- Fritz Gohl (i)
- David Stieper
- Michael Harrington
- Kelly Mazeski
- Colleen Konicek Hannigan

Not surprising Abboud is running but based on what? The only thing he’s accomplished in the last few years is create chaos for residents.
Thank you good people for the commitment; now it’s up to us to get behind the non-Abboud candidates and get them elected. Were Plan Commission candidates Mazeski and Harrington sought out by Abboud for appointment to the Commissuin? Would they think for themselves if elected to the Board? Let’s ask them.
Mazeski is a hard core lefty……and a close friend of
Bobby….
Sorry to see trustee Skip Gianopoulos not on the list of candidates. That’s a loss for the village since he is so open and approachable. Also noticed Ramesh is not running again either.
I look forward to whatever these new candidates have to say.
We are more than blessed to have qualified candidates. Hizzoner’s hand picked candidates Mazeski and Harrington will undoubtedly ‘kneel at the altar of Abboud’. That’s why it is so important to insure that McLaughlin, Stieper, and Hannigan are elected – for the sake of our residents, our community, our village and our wallets.
1. Hannigan….honest, smart, friendly. 2.Stieper…….very smart…..very honest….very stand up 3. Mazeski……Bobby’s puppet…..radical democrat…She is her own best friend! 4. Fritz….simple nice guy….goes along to get along….May not be a mensa member. 5. Harrington ……Bobby’s Charlie McCarthy ….Will say anything to get elected…. Abboud…….Willing to spend 175k to get a non-paying job!
