“Cops, trees and 4G topped a marathon six-hour Barrington Hills board meeting which started Monday night and went past midnight.
The board wrestled with legal proceedings surrounding its pending police contract, a proposed 4G connection on the campus and complaints about a resident on the west side of Bateman Road south of Lake Cook cutting down 14 walnut trees without a permit.”

Let’s put all of this in proper perspective – ATC offers to pay for free video equipment and hosting so we can view our board of trustee meetings live ….additionally they replace the ComEd feed and throw some other bones our way. And the Board votes for financial compensation instead. Yes it would be great to know the costs but I seem to remember at the last meeting several trustee committees had unspent monies in their 2011 budget. So where are all these monies going or going to go? The reason live video hosting was voted down at the last meeting – according to several trustees – was the lack of finances. The ATC offer allows us to accomplish this at no cost and still the trustees (minus one) refuse to video their meetings…………….this is not about money dear readers – it’s about video taping the meetings. You all should should have been privy to Fritz Gohl’s act when he proudly displayed a letter from Attorney General Lisa Madigan regarding the village’s obvious Open Meeting Act violations/educational requirement – our illustrious trustee threw the letter on the floor and stated I never read anything she sends me……………and they openly state how they are worried that any video taping might be used against them at election time – this would have been a gift from god!
Phony Meroni – you state you are worried about citizens rights and the village’s role in recovering expenditures being viewed as punishment. Punishment was the 6 hour bot meeting – worse then water boarding.
Such arrogance and stupidity! Please do us all a favor and resign before you embarass yourselves further, and empty the Village coffers. You, Village Pres and Trustees, should sit in on other Villages’ board meetings to take a lesson in courtesy, tolerance, and efficiency. Perhaps, BH Board could host a “sleepover” and invite So Barrington Pres. Munao to the next Village Board meeting. Then, he can reconsider his/Munao’s decision tol stay in BACOG.
If there is the possibility of a recall or advisory referendum to purge the Board? I hope someone out there could research it; many of us would be willing to contribute toward fees to accomplish this.
With you 100% Phil B – if they were successful in Wisconsin they could be in Barrington Hills. I’d donate to that. Any legal eagles out there willing to take on the challenge?
Totally agree with you, Eyes Wide Shut!
Abboud & Co. reject free video equipment and hosting from American Tower, but they’re willing to give away the store to BACOG for nothing? Oh wait, not for nothing. Taxpayers in BH currently pay $34,000 for our annual dues. So, really, we’re paying THEM to use our facilities. When they finally move in, let’s make sure they get all the free coffee they want too.
As for Gohl, does anyone know if he actually can read?
