Editorial note: Algonquin Road was closed and residents received absolutely no notification (Text, email, Facebook, X…) from the Barrington Hills Police Department. It would have taken less than a minute to craft a message informing residents.

I heard about it from my daughter who lives in North Barrington (saw it from a Herald Alert). Agree it would be good to have more village announcements and using a system that works properly. Lastly, Route 62 has seen numerous serious accidents on this stretch of road – cook county should put up hazardous road signs in the area to warn motorists, similar to ‘accident black spots’ signs used in other countries.
