The UrbanStreet Group is leaving its imprint on the suburban residential landscape with such projects as the Element at Veridian in Schaumburg and The 250 Residences in Buffalo Grove.
Now, the Schaumburg-based group plans to make its mark on the north section of Barrington’s Golden Triangle area near the northwest corner of Liberty and Hough streets.
UrbanStreet told Barrington trustees at Monday’s committee of the whole meeting they are taking the lead on a project brought to the village in February and March by the Barrington Development Group.
The development group’s Michael Fleck has brought UrbanStreet on board to reimagine the project, which originally called for 223 units, including a 207-unit multifamily residential building and 16 row homes.
The new concept consists of 106 units, including 91 multifamily units with two 4-story apartment buildings and 15 three-story row homes. There also would be two pocket parks along the rail line area.
UrbanStreet Group Director of Development Teresa Bateman said the project envisions serving a mix of young professionals, empty nesters and Barrington residents who wish to remain in the village while enjoying a maintenance-free lifestyle.
