The Village of Barrington Plan Commission meets tomorrow evening at 6:30 PM. Their agenda includes:
- PC 25-01: 617 W Main Street – Continued Public Hearing
The Petitioner is seeking approval of a Special Use Planned Development and Rezoning from O-R: Office/Research District to R-5: Single-Family Residential District for the construction of eighty-eight (88) single-family residential homes and related site improvements including but not limited to a gatehouse, clubhouse, sports courts, utilities, private roads, parking, lighting, landscaping and trash enclosure.
- PC 25-03: Comprehensive Plan Amendments – 200 S Hough Street – Continued Public Hearing
The Petitioner is requesting approval of amendments to the Village of Barrington 2021 Comprehensive Plan with regards to Chapter 4 “Land Use”, Chapter 11 “Neighborhood” and Map 3 “Land Use Plan”.

“Claremont
Vintage Luxury Homes has applied for a Special Use Planned Development and Rezoning request for the development of a new residential subdivision at 617 W. Main St., the former PepsiCo site. The Claremont development will include 88 custom luxury single-family homes in a gated community with many on-site amenities, including a clubhouse, pool, cabana, sports courts, walking paths and more. The total site is approximately 94 acres; however, development is only proposed on the north portion of the site and will not extend past Hidden Lake.
Project Status: The initial July 8, 2025 Plan Commission public hearing for this project was continued to Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. at Village Hall. This meeting is open to the public. Comments can also be submitted in advance by emailing Katie Rivard at krivard@barrington-il.gov
The July 8, 2025 meeting was well-attended by the community, and the Plan Commission is is taking into consideration the information provided by the developer, the developer’s consulting team, Village staff and the community in preparation for the Aug. 12, 2025 continued public hearing.
