More than 700 seniors from Barrington High School made up the class of 2022, with their graduation ceremony held Friday at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington.
Last year, separate graduation ceremonies were held outdoors at the school’s athletic stadium due to the COVID-19 pandemic, to accommodate the turnout. But this year, there was a return to the pre-pandemic, familiar auditorium setting.
This was the first BHS commencement for new Barrington School District 220 Superintendent Robert Hunt, who started in his new position last summer. He said the Class of 2022 was strongly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic but overcame obstacles.
“With the perseverance and challenges these students have demonstrated, the accolades and what they have done under those circumstances is just truly amazing,” Hunt said.
