May 23 Village Board audio recordings released
May 30, 2013 by Barrington Hills Observer
Mr. Messer made the suggestion to the Board of Trustees that consideration should be given to host an “informal get together” or function so that the Board could get to know the different organizations (i.e., Garden Club, Polo, Conservation) in Barrington Hills. He also stated that “our Board doesn’t really interact that often with the various organizations that are in BH primarily”; “I don’t know who they are” and “I don’t have any interaction with those folks.” Mr. Messer has made a personal decision not to be acquainted with these organizations. It should be left up to the residence of Barrington Hills to make their own personal choice as to whether or not they take the initiative to be informed and involved with these organizations.
Secondly, with today’s resources; if Mr. Messer and the Board are really interested in learning more about the organizations in Barrington Hills, they could Google; read the various newspapers and magazines that are circulated to the Barrington Hills community; and/or go visit these organizations on their own time. This would not involve any cost to Barrington Hills’ residence.
We think taxpayer’s dollars can be better used. We agree with Fritz that all organizations should continue to go before the Board of Trustees to discuss their concerns in open forum.
Some of these recordings are credited to Abboud, Gianopulos and Ramesh. Would someone kindly inform village hall staff that they no longer serve on the Board, and that they would likely not want their names on the record?
Thank you.
