In an unprecedented move, the Village has released a recording of this month’s Zoning Board meeting. It was during this meeting that the ZBA voted to set aside the Home Occupation Ordinance Amendment addressing Commercial Horse Boarding in the Village and make no recommendation to the Board of Trustees on the matter.

Chairman Freeman has a good point about reading the comprehensive plan. It’s a good read.
I suggest everyone listen to the recording. Freeman is delusional when referencing the Comprehensive Plan and interprets this sometimes vague document at best to her “advantage” in supporting the Riding Club and horse expansion. And who was that on the tape who said the horse population is going down? How does she know? Is a horse census taken that we don’t know about or is there a decline in Riding Club membership?
I’ve read every comment submitted by residents both pro and con boarding. If the members of the ZBA really took the time to consider them in an unbiased fashion one thing is clear. Equines are not the problem in Barrington Hills. It’s some of the EQUESTRIANS that are a problem, and people have heard enough horror stories to know they don’t want a boarding operation moving in next door.
