Village posts official April 9 vote totals

It’s a shame “close” only counts in horseshoes or target shooting. For all intents and purposes it was a dead heat between four trustee candidates besides Hannigan with Fritz Gohl barely being reelected by only three votes.
The county vote counts are also interesting in that Abboud lost every county. This is definitely one for the record books (so to speak). I’m pleased people are finally paying attention to our small village governance principles and practices and doing something about it at the polls.
The election is over and the votes are in. Let’s all work together with a fresh start and forget about all the problems that our past president started and never resolved. Neighbor against neighbor is not why any of us live in this village. Thank you fellow residents for finally seeing the light!
