Barrington Hills President Abboud and Save5Acre Slate decline response to Stieper invitation to attend Public Forum.
David Stieper, the only independent candidate for Village Trustee of Barrington Hills, confirms his intention to hold a Public Forum. Citizens for Stieper reserved the “Multi-Purpose Room” at Countryside Elementary School on Tuesday, April 2 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM CDT. Format will allow open questions of Mr. Stieper and a neutral monitor will be appointed by him to ensure fair process.

God forbid that Abboud and Fritz appear at an open forum without the protection of his gavel and their restrictive rules – cowards hide while true leaders are an open book. It would be refreshing to see all of the candidates at this forum fielding questions from residents – wonder what excuse Abboud and friends will use for being no-shows?
We’re hoping the Unite Barrington Hills candidates will join David Stieper.for a pleasant exchange of ideas. Without Abboud and his slate, the room won’t be overheated with his hot air. Until you grow up, Bob, please take retirement from public office seriously.
I was looking forward to a hearing both sides, but sounds like Abboud aka Bobby is chicken.
Having attended a Stieper forum + a coffee during the last election, I know first hand that decent candidates would not set themselves up for his contrived hogwash. I was interested in his candidacy but all he did then and until now is spin and rant so he lost my vote forever and obviously many, many others agreed by the poor tally. When this man decides to be postive for our VBH, then residents will listen, til then his blog spin, lies and innuendoes are worthless except to the unwary & uninformed. I stay for the entire Board meetings, neither David nor any of his cronnies do, if they show up at all. Spliced film is no proof of what really transpires at the meetings and all who believe what they see via video ought to re-examine their own purposes to short cut learning about candidates.

Your comment was quite revealing. You have highlighted the need for thoughtful and fact based commentary. Might be helpful for you to identify the specific “lies” you reference in a fact based manner for the benefit of all of us. Was it the reference to the $1 million plus spent in legal fees in the Sears Litigation – is that not a true fact? Please enlighten us. Or was it the reference that over $60,000 has been spent investigating the East Dundee Auto situation. Or, maybe it was the reference to the $10 million that Sears has sued the Village for in that case. Would certainly welcome you shedding light on the fallacy in those facts. Perhaps, it is the number that the Village has spent $4.7 million in legal fees the past 5 years that is incorrect. Is it possible that you dispute that James Kelly and his legal firms have received over $500,000 from the Village. Those numbers would be easy to challenge except they came from the Village directly from their records and, if incorrect, would mean that the Village is not producing honest information in their audits and public records. We can be quite certain that is not the case which means the “hogwash” above may have some merit.
Let’s be specific about meeting attendance. The last BOT meeting was attended by about 10 BH citizens. Are you insinuating that all of your neighbors don’t deserve a say with their votes? Certainly not. There are people who have attended 30 plus ZBA and BOT meetings the past 3 years and have not had the pleasure of your company at any of those meetings in in the past. Certainly you are not at every meeting to be able to judge who attends and how long they’ve stayed each time. Careless and not factual comments are areas that you would certainly not promote, except when re-reading the above comment …

Grow up and show up at VBH trustee meetings and listen to the discussions yourselves. Your queries above have been answered and re-answered, yet you are not there to listen. If you want democracy, then participate in public rather than behind internet walls. Nobody is running, nor hiding on the Save5Acres slate nor is President Abboud. What purpose to attend Stieper’s forum; I have attended two with his last attempt and they were merely rants against the elected. It’s the old ‘sticks and stones’ game; attend all candidates’ coffees and listen for a change. Obviously you don’t know me or you would know that I have a mind that I use positively FOR the community rather than trying to be negative and against this community where my family has lived for 32 years.

I suggest P D exert her influence on the boy wonder and have him institute live video for all to see what goes on in Trustee’s meetings. The system now in place (in the name of transparency) is difficult to hear, after the fact recordings. Most towns have live video in place, and at a modest price. P D,should also know from attending meetings that elderly people should not be kept waiting ’till the wee hours while her boy rants on for hours, and then only to be limited to “comments” rather than questions. It is time for adults to be in office,
PD also knows the BOT meetings are nothing more than staged and rehearsed rhetoric full of lies and deceipt. Ugly is as ugly does……….and out administration and their supporters are some of the ugliest I’ve seen.

Has anyone else out there been mortified to see the attack mailed by Bob Abboud yesterday on Colleen Konicek Hannigan? The treatment of any human in this mannger is deplorable, but it almost seems as though Mr. Abboud takes license in his ability to slam a woman. His handling of women in BOT meetings is noticeably condescending and superior. For a Village that is supposed to have a reputation of treating people with respect, that certainly was a display of bully tactics not welcome in our homes or running our Village.
