The Barrington Area Council of Governments has slashed its proposed annual budget by 25 percent in an effort to make continued involvement attractive to it members, particularly South Barrington.
One of the ways of doing that was to take up Barrington Hills Village President Robert Abboud’s offer to house the council’s administrative offices at his village hall, thus eliminating BACOG’s rent and utility costs for a time.

BACOG needs to keep their ‘independence’ – future voting results just might become suspect of favoritism towards one community or individual. Because of Abbouds controversial behavior I say ‘beware of Greeks bearing gifts’……….

Abboud has no business making this proposal to house/subsidize BACOG. I’d like to see what the Trustees think; are they, too, in favor of incurring more expense and liability for the taxpayers to bear? BACOG’s time has come; let it go.

So, what else is new ? Just exactly where does mr.president intend to put their BACOG people,and all that comes with them ? Oh wait I know the can have Don Schuman’s office . Here is another idea put them in his office after all his is a volunteer job ! How much will they pay “US” in rent ?

In response to Phil B, that is the problem, our Trustees do not think, they lack indepedent thought. They are drones, save one, under the hypnotic spell of Abboud.
Will BACOG be making a campaign donation in return for use of Village Hall space? Learn from Save 5 Acres, don’t try and hide the donor’s name, we are watching.
