Many Illinois residents are gearing up to join the national “Good Trouble Lives On” demonstrations coming up this week to protest recent actions by President Donald Trump and his administration.
The organized demonstration borrows part of its name from the late Congressman John Lewis, and will involve gatherings across dozens of Illinois cities, including Chicago, Rockford, Peoria and Springfield.

Protestors are granted certain freedoms under the First Amendment, including the right to:
- Protest.
- Demonstrate, such as taking part in a rally or march
- Donate to groups and political candidates
- Get together with other people to talk about issues
