An 85-year-old man and a 78-year-old woman are both dead after a crash that left one of them ejected from their rolled-over car in Barrington Thursday afternoon.
The Barrington Police Department, Barrington Fire Department and Barrington-Countryside Fire Protection District responded around 10:40 a.m. Thursday to 633 South Hough Street in Barrington.
The single-vehicle crash involved a Toyota sedan, which rolled over off the roadway and onto a sidewalk.
The incident occurred on the corner of Hough Street and Sturtz Road.
One of the victims was ejected from the Toyota, according to a witness at the scene. The second victim was trapped inside the car.
Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office said one of the victims was a 78-year-old woman and the other was an 85-year-old man.
The medical examiner’s office identified the woman as Mary A. Gulbranson, of Barrington. The male victim was identified as Richard A. Wetterholm, of Wheeling.
