“Please note that the Library will remain closed on Friday, December 23, due to severe winter weather conditions. The Library will also be closed on the weekend of Dec 24-25 for Christmas.
Remember, we are a fines-free library, so please stay safe and warm at home and do not worry about returning library materials at this time. Take care, enjoy the holiday, and come see us next week.”
Editorial note: If you happen to see a Library Board of Trustees member out and about today shopping, be sure to please flip them the Barrington Hills Observer sign of peace and friendship (the “bird”) for closing today.
How come the library a community resource closes …. We live in Illinois so this weather shouldn’t cause panic. My son has been spending quite a bit of time at the library and was planning to go over the break to this community location. Why not stay open every other business in the area remained open during this weather so should the library. I would have gone and checked out a book to read through New Years weekend but due to the closure that will not be possible.
Park District was closed too, yet Yoga6, Starbucks, Egg Harbor, Nektar, Jewel, Heinen’s, Christie’s, Dibi, Phillips, Angelina’s, Barrington Bank, Elegance Cleaners and so many other places were open. Park Dist & Library are the property of the people who pay the taxes to keep them in business. Why are public bodies closed at times when the people who depend on them the most really need them? These boards all need some fresh new faces, and not the bad actors involved in the very partisan LWV, the BOE troll, and in the pocket of the BEA.
