Santa will arrive at Deer Park Town Center with fireworks, a tree lighting and more starting at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12.
Lightscape: Various times and dates Friday, Nov. 11, through Jan. 8 at the Chicago Botanic Garden, 1000 Lake-Cook Road, Glencoe. Explore a new path, new light-filled installations and the Winter Cathedral and a re-imagined fire garden. Adults: $30 for members, $32 for nonmembers; kids: $14 for members, $16 for nonmembers; free for kids 2 and younger. Tickets purchased the day of the event are $2 more. chicagobotanic.org/lightscape.
Arboretum of South Barrington Tree Lighting: 5:30-7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Arboretum of South Barrington, 100 W. Higgins Road, South Barrington. Santa and Mrs. Claus will parade down main street on firetrucks and police cars. The tree-lighting ceremony in the Main Street Plaza will begin at 6:15 p.m., followed by a dance party and music. In the holiday tent, there will be free hot cocoa, balloon artists and face painting, and The North Pole Band will perform until 9 p.m. shopthearb.com.
Santa’s Arrival and Fireworks: 6-8:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at Deer Park Town Center, 20530 N. Rand Road, Deer Park. Santa’s arrival includes a special performance by Those Funny Little People at 6 p.m., a tree-lighting ceremony, a fireworks show around 6:30 p.m. and free photos with Santa until 8:30 p.m. shopdeerparktowncenter.com.
Holiday Gifts and Crafts Show: Noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, at the Wild Onion Banquet Hall, 22221 N. Pepper Road, Lake Barrington. Variety of local crafters and direct sales representatives will be selling home decor, health and wellness, apparel, jewelry, wood crafts, knit and crochet.
