The District 220 Board of Education spent the last forty-five minutes of their regular meeting last night discussing the information shared by Alex Strobl (See, “So you wanna run for Barrington CUSD 220 Board?” and “220 Gate, part two?”) on this and other websites.

Finally some response to the CUSD220 gate brought forward by a resident a few days ago. Mike Shackleton and Angela Wilcox last night called into question the “vetting committee meeting” that took place in December with Alex Strobl. There was quite an illuminating back and forth between Sandra Ficke-Bradford (who was re-elected last night)and Penny Kazmier ( who is stepping down after her term is up) and Mike Shackleton ( not re-elected last night)as the board members Kazmier Bradford attempted to justify their inclusion in a call with Strobl. It was quite a clumsy defense by both that was frankly uncomfortable and lacked believability.
The banter got pretty heated for a school board meeting when Kazmier and Bradford got very defensive about the insinuation that the December meeting was improper and at the very least extremely unwise.
Start : Last 45 minutes of school board meeting
A third trustee Dr. Auchulyer sp also entered the conversation and didn’t make it clear what his role was in the vetting.
Calls of community “division” and “partisan” behaviors permeated the conversations. Even the grey old lady of politics was drawn into the mix as the LWV was mentioned as the bastion of nonpartisan credibility. After their comments this cycle in this race it’s hard to take them seriously. These days it’s hard to take the LWV seriously anymore as a disinterested bi partisan organization.
Always amazes me when the truth is exposed that people resort to name calling and deflection. How many other candidates did Penny Kazmier and Sandra Bradford and Barry Altshuler offer the same “assistance” to in this election cycle? Obviously, none.
You’re going to get a different kind of woke you never expected to in the next two years. The people of this community are pushing back against the identity agendas being forced upon our community by those in these positions.
With more effort and more messaging these agendists on our school board will be exposed and wiped away. I can’t wait for this next two years to come.
