Willis Tower was still dark Wednesday after experiencing a power outage that caused a disruption of the broadcast signals of local television channels and radio stations following a series of floods that hit Chicago this week.
The iconic skyscraper remained closed Wednesday, after electricity at the building was shut down because of the intense flooding that sent the Chicago River to its highest levels in 60 years. While still available or available again through cable and satellite systems by Wednesday, some stations’ broadcast signals remained off-air.
As the skyscraper remained dark, social media Tuesday night and Wednesday was filled with photos of the former Sears Tower with no or few lights on.
