The Village of Wayne is described on their website as,
“A BEAUTIFUL, FRIENDLY AND SAFE RESIDENTIAL AND EQUESTRIAN COMMUNITY FOUNDED AND SUPPORTED BY VOLUNTEERS.”
Established in 1834, the Village, located in both DuPage and Kane Counties, had 2,431 residents as of the 2010 US Census living on minimum four (4) acre parcels.
Unique about Wayne is that it has one zip code and its own post office – something almost unheard of today.
The reason we are enlightening readers with this background is that the Village of Wayne has no documented cases of COVID-19. None!
This is not to say no one has contracted some form of the virus, but according to the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDBH) map (see below), Zip Code 60184 is blank:
The Village of Barrington Hills falls primarily under Zip Code 60010, along with portions or all of Deer Park, Hoffman Estates, Inverness, Kildeer, Lake Barrington, North Barrington, Port Barrington, South Barrington, Tower Lakes and, of course, Barrington.
The estimated population of 60010 was 46,350 in 2017, or a little more than eleven times that of Barrington Hills. The IDPH report indicates only 40 people have contracted the virus in 60010, not one person has died from it and we’re aware of no one in Barrington Hills who has tested positive.
All we read or hear in the news every day are numbers of doom and gloom from Pritzker and Lightfoot. Hopefully, the positive numbers from 60010 form a basis for discussions in our community. That discussion should begin with ways to reopen suburban businesses now!
The reason why the numbers of cases are low in Wayne and the Barrington area is because the residents are abiding by the recommendations of sheltering in place, social distancing etc. to protect ourselves and to prevent the spread of the disease. And we are lucky enough to have the resources and the space to do it. I wish those demanding “emancipation” or “liberation” would use their talents in a way that would help those less fortunate who are in extreme danger of catching this disease and possibly dying from it.
The Governors unconstitutional executive order contravenes the inalienable rights of the people of our community, and more importantly, violates civil liberties protected in bill of rights.
Further helping those “less fortunate” includes allowing businesses and the great number of the unwashed masses to work and earn a living and survive. Not through handouts or government largesse.
Put down the opera glasses , Robb Report and 73’ Chateau Montelena for a moment and get over yourself.
Be careful. The air gets very thin from the high and mighty pulpit you’re preaching from (as I’m sure you’ve experienced while writing this).
We the people have the inalienable right to live our lives free from irrational fear, intimidation from safety signalers, and unreasonable unconstitutional state requirements that destroy our individual liberties. The virus is real BUT NOT THE DEATH SENTENCE it was initially made out to be.
Stay at home, stay scared and live in a lifetime bubble if you like. Just don’t tell me I have to for safety sake. Wake up no one is ever completely safe. Not in life and not in fairy tales.
As the data comes in this is looking more like a fairy tale more and more. The hospitalizations are way down the death numbers are way down. The new JB unconstitutional executive “order“ will destroy our economic lives and the welfare of thousands.
The proclamation is full of world health organization talking points and expert estimates and models. Relying upon these organizations and these groups at this point is reckless.
Politicians like J.B. and Lightfoot who intend to try to control how we lived are doing so hoping they can drive Illinois into the ground praying this will cause a federal bailout covering up for the sins of most Democrat leaders past and present and some Republicans in our sinking state.
Freedom!!!!!
