Leaders in the greater Barrington area say they are working this year to draw more commercial and residential development nearby and update major infrastructure, while keeping green spaces and resident happiness a priority.
The village officials highlighted 2019 accomplishments in their respective towns , answered questions about real estate, traffic and solar energy in the area and looked ahead to their 2020 goals during the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce Economic Summit Wednesday morning in downtown Barrington.
“Our annual economic summit is certainly an important opportunity to get updates and have a dialogue with area leaders that provides the kind of information that keeps us educated and engaged citizens,” said Suzanne Corr, president of BACC..
The Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce serves Barrington, Barrington Hills, Deer Park, Inverness, Kildeer, Lake Barrington, Long Grove, Port Barrington, South Barrington, Tower Lakes and North Barrington. Village presidents and municipal administrators represented all of these communities on the panel, except Inverness.
