Enjoy a fall day in Barrington with the 19th annual Scarecrow Festival, a free, family-friendly event held from 11 AM to 2 PM Saturday, October 12th, at Memorial Park, Hough and Lincoln avenues.
The Fall Wine Walk will take place from 2 to 6 PM while people shop, sip and stroll through town and enjoy the third annual “Paint the Town Barrington!” plein air (outdoor painting) event taking place at various locations throughout downtown Barrington.
The Scarecrow Festival is a popular family event emceed by Bob the DJ and features free pumpkin and scarecrow decorating along with pony rides, inflatable games, face painting and other fun activities throughout the day. The event is sponsored by Barrington Youth and Family Services, Chirofit, Heinens, the village of Barrington and Bob the DJ.
The Fall Wine Walk features 27 village of Barrington merchants pouring one-ounce wine samples at locations throughout town. Participants receive a souvenir wineglass, a map of the wine-tasting locations and a list to check off each tasting sample.
The Wine Walk trolley will transport attendees to designated stops throughout the downtown Barrington area. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased in advance online at www.barringtonchamber.com.
