The 86th annual Barrington United Methodist Church rummage sale returns from 9 AM to 7 PM Friday, Oct. 4, and 9 AM to noon Saturday, Oct. 5.
Located at the southeast corner of Rt. 59 and Algonquin Rd, great finds and treasures will fill an entire wing of the church and spill out into 1,300 square foot tent. Thousands of clean, usable items will include clothing, shoes, accessories, toys, lamps, house wares, tools, sporting goods, linens, holiday items, crafts, fabrics, small furniture pieces, bikes and lawn items.
For those looking for bargains, the popular half-price sale will begin at 3 p.m. Friday. Select departments and the French Room will be half price on Saturday. Saturday shoppers can take advantage of the Bargain Bag Sale, where you can purchase anything you can fit into a select bag for $5 or $10.
Proceeds benefit many local and Chicago-based organizations that work with women, children, and youth. The event also contributes to the mission outreach of the national organization of United Methodist Women, providing support for institutions and projects related to women, children and youth in the United States and in more than 100 countries around the world.
Donations of goods will be accepted from noon to 2 PM Sunday, Sept. 29; 9 AM to 8 PM Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 30 and Oct. 1; and 9 AM to noon Wednesday, Oct. 2. Tax donation receipts will be readily available.
