Swimming at the pool in Langendorf Park, enjoying antique cars on Cruise Night in downtown Barrington dining at one of the village’s sidewalk or patio outdoor eateries and more will all be part of Barrington’s summer scene this year.
The Memorial Day weekend marked the unofficial start of summer.
Before schools in Barrington School District 220 dismiss students for the summer June 4, Jodi Krause, the Barrington Park District supervisor of recreation said area youngsters got their first opportunity to take a dip in the Aqualusion Pool at Langendorf Park.
Krause said the pool opened Saturday and will start summer hours two weeks later.
Downtown restaurants like Shakou Barrington, with its open air rooftop deck, bisTeca with patio dining, McGonigal’s Pub and Cook Street Coffee are among the local restaurants that offer outdoor dining throughout the summer, according to Suzanne Corr, president of the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce.
