The Equestrian Coalition of McHenry County (ECMC) and its founder and chair, Barrington Hills resident Elaine Ramesh, were featured in a recent issue of Barrington Hills Life magazine. Ramesh was shown along with representatives of the McHenry County Conservation District and Conservation Foundation accepting the Partnership Award from the Illinois Association of Park Districts for their collaborative efforts to raise money and receive a federal grant for a horse trailer parking lot to service the newly opened riding trails at Brookdale, near Woodstock. Residents Karen Selman and Mary Beth Holsteen are also on the organization’s steering committee.
The Equestrian Coalition represents 500 members from the Bull Valley Riding Club, McHenry County Horse Club, McHenry County Saddle Club and the Riding Club of Barrington Hills.
