Barrington Area Unit School District 220 middle school students will have less time to get themselves from class to class next year.
In a move to end the school day sooner, the school board approved a plan that would reduce passing periods at Prairie and Station middle schools from four minutes to three.
Linda Klobucher, the district’s assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction, said the decision was made so their students could compete in sports and academics with middle schools that don’t end their school days so late.
