Four seats on the Barrington Hills Board of Trustees are up for election in the April 4, 2017 Consolidated Elections, and the Riding Club of Barrington Hills seems to be aiming for all four now that candidates have filed with the Village Clerk on Monday.
Running for the office of President are:
- Martin J. McLaughlin* (Independent)
- Louis Iacovelli (Riding Club)
Those running for three Trustee positions are:
- Colleen Konicek Hannigan* (Independent)
- Paula Jacobsen (Riding Club)
- Elaine M. Ramesh (Riding Club)
- Matthew P. Vondra (Independent)
- Robert M. Zubak (Riding Club)
- Ralph Sesso (Independent)
- Linda H. Cools (Independent)
Incumbent Trustees Fritz Gohl and Mike Harrington are not running for re-election in April, however Gohl will be running unopposed for trustee to the Barrington Township Board of Directors.
*Incumbent
Fritz should retire from his political puppetry and write a book about his ‘65 years’ of living in Barrington Hills (once he finishes coloring the one he’s been working on of course).
As for the Riding Club candidates no matter how much campaign money is thrown their way, legitimate or not, residents know damned well why their running and it’s definitely not in the spirit of public service to the overall interests of the entire community!
Also is it ethical for the supposed publisher of a local political blog (Barrington Hills Chronicle) to be running for office?
Given the complete repudiation of RCBH Tax Attorney’s signature commercial boarding legislation, Anderson II, by the 2016 VBH ZBA and BOT it is not surprising RCBH is running anyone in their club who would volunteer and be brazen enough to promote Anderson II as responsible zoning law, including unknowns Iacovelli, Jacobsen and Zubak as well as the all too well-known, “Silent-One”.
This election is all about reinstatement into VBH law of the 2006 “Abboud-Stieper Home Occupation Ordinance” (“ASHOO”) by VBH BOT versus their repudiation of Anderson II now decaying next to the Light Ordinance on the trash heap of VBH history; where it belongs.
Unfortunately, this election will likely not be about the great place VBH currently finds itself through the tireless and thankless work by Martin McLaughlin and Colleen Konicek unraveling the “waste”, “mismanagement” and “corruption” left by the Silent One and her “Save 5 Acres” elected majority but rather given the anticipated largesse of money to be thrown about by the usual big business boarding proprietors, this election will be all about “EQUINENOMICS”.
Potpourri – which candidate are you referring to?
