A 5-month-old infant died and two other children were seriously injured following a multivehicle crash Thursday evening in Barrington Hills, authorities said.
Barrington Hills police responded just before 7 p.m. to the crash involving five vehicles at Route 25 and Silverstone Drive. Investigators determined that a 2010 Dodge Journey, driven by a 32-year-old Carpentersville woman and carrying the infant, initially collided with a 2001 Ford pickup, driven by a 23-year-old man from Carpentersville, police said in a news release.
