The following update on the Cuba Road Bridge reconstruction project was issued by Village Hall this morning:
“The poured concrete pieces of the new Cuba Road Bridge are expected to begin the journey from Central Illinois Wednesday evening and a large crane is set to be delivered before the end of the week.
Successful delivery of the pieces and the crane will be a huge step forward toward reopening the Bridge. IDOT and the Village know the frustration you’re feeling. We are pushing the project along as quickly, and safely, as we can. We hope to open the bridge in early July if everything goes well from here on out.
TRAFFIC DELAYS ANTICIPATED, please plan your travel accordingly. At this time we anticipate having to close large portions of Merri Oaks, Ridge & Cuba Roads for the delivery and installation of the bridge pieces. Traffic could be severely delayed, please stay alert.”
