Three years ago, we launched LIVING60010 with a very specific goal in mind – to shed light on all the positive things happening in our community, and the individuals that work tirelessly everyday to shape 60010 into one of the best places in Illinois to raise a family.
As we move closer towards this year’s primary election on March 15th, we have the opportunity to nominate three proven leaders from 60010 who have done an exemplary job in their respective roles. Each of them have been true advocates for reform and together can make a big impact in Springfield.

It is unfortunate David McSweeny has not publicly endorsed Martin McLaughlin as the best qualified to hold IL State Senate seat for the 26th District. But I assume like so many elected officials running for re-election, David McSweeny is reluctant to say anything publicly positive about a non-establishment highly-gifted candidate like Martin McLaughlin for fear of offending the political establishment PACs who haved already spent in excess of One Hundred Thousand Dollars on Springfield lobbyist and pre-ordained establishment candidate Dan McConchie.
Instead, to my knowledge, David McSweeny has remained silent on his choice in this race. Who can blame him, I am sure David does not want to be the target of the establishment money directed at Marty who has received the endorsements from all the major newspapers as hands down the best qualified. .
Dan McConchie described his experitse on his LinkedIn as “Lobbyist” and “fundraiser”. O’Bama supporter and O’Bama dinner guest Robt. G. Abboud is openly supporting Dan McConchie; so need I say more to VBH BHO readers about Dan McConchie. Inside establishment PAC money and open support by far left liberal government spendthrifts like former VBH President.
I will vote for Martin McLaughlin because given his pension expertise and record in VBH of bending the cost curve and fulfilling his political promises to VBH residents, Marty is not only the best qualified candidate for IL State Senate but Marty can be trusted to do what he says he is going to do! .
Until Illinois accomplishes reform of the public pension system, all else in Springfield is academic. This is neither a Republican nor Democratic issue but simply an issue of mathematics.
Get the word out to those you know who reside in the 26th District, BE A SMARY, VOTE FOR MARTY!.
Do what I did. Don’t vote for McSweeney. He’s running unopposed, so it doesn’t matter and it sends a message from his constituents that we’re disappointed he didn’t do the right thing by backing McLaughlin, clearly the most qualified candidate.
