Law enforcement groups in Chicago’s northwest suburbs are reporting positive results of an antidote that helps people recover from heroin overdoses.
Local police officers have been trained to inject the drug Narcan, and the carry a Narcan kit in patrol cars.
On Jan. 27, Barrington Hills police needle-injected Narcan into a woman in her 20s on the 100 block of County Line Road, according to a news release from police. Someone called 911 asking for help for the woman.
