The official certified vote counts from the April 7th consolidated election have been posted to the Village website. A copy of the results can be seen below:
Also, David Orr, Cook County Clerk, has certified the vote counts by township and precinct. A copy of his report can be viewed here.
P. Denise Israel is incorrect in her assertion that the election of April 7, 2015 did not result in a mandate! A 54% to 46% victory, by all election standards, is indeed a mandate. One may Google “mandate” if in doubt.
This election was just the final leg of the total repudiation of the previous President, his acolytes, and the continuation of their destruction of the Village. The damage done by the ex and his minions was inestimable, and Ms. Israel’s pleas to the contrary cannot change that legacy.
Village residents are uniting, now that most of the miscreants have been retired. The leadership of President McLaughlin, in cooperation with a community-minded Board, will undoubtedly return Barrington Hills to the status it once enjoyed!
An absolute mandate for Village President McLaughlin to change VBH government including but not limited to the “excessive expenditures” and “priorities” of recent past . . . . and finally we can clean-up the cess pool of politics and division of community achieved by former VBH President with the help of radicalized allies in VBH Riding Club. . . . .
With the exception of VBH BOT Harrington and Gohl politics of the past is behind us. Let this be advice to new BOT members this victory should not be construed as a desire by voters, at least this one, to forgive former VBH President and certain “Save 5 Acres” members of possible transgressions committed while in office . . . . . including potential “pay to play” politics surrounding issuance of the Schuman Letter and suspicious activities relating to promulgation of Anderson II Horse Boarding Amendment. . . . .
Let’s not forget former VBH President and VBH BOT Save 5 Acres majority authorized payment of $182,000 of our taxpayer money to Burke-Warren to close boarding operations at Oakwood farm which Burke-Warren successfully did at both the trial and appellate court level only to be trumped by a 40 cent letter prepared by someone at Village Hall pretending to be building inspector, Don Schuman.
The “unprecedented” Schuman Letter was issued 34 days after the 3 secret campaign donations by Oakwood Farm to former Trustees Messer, Meroni and Selman. A “quid pro quo” or coincidence? This is the answer we the taxpayers and new BOT need to find out.
After $182,000 was paid to Burke-Warren to close boarding operations at Oakwood Farm an additional $9,000.00 was paid to Burke-Warren to monitor in court the progress of the subsequent Drury lawsuit against Oakwood Farm who legally stepped into the shoes of VBH when VBH mysteriously abandoned the lawsuit which, but for the Schuman Letter, had already been completely adjudicated in VBH’s favor.
In excess of $200,000 of taxpayer monies were paid to Burke-Warren on the Oakward Farm boarding activities; first to oppose it, and then to support it coincidentally immediately after the Schuman Letter was issued.
This is one Village taxpayer who wants answers from its government. . . This is not about horseboarding but possible political corruption in our equestrian friendly hamlet. Should the internal investigation of VBH conclude probability of malfeasance, VBH BOT should immediately sue the current and former BOT members involved for damages totaling the sums of tax money ($182,000) paid to Burke-Warren to litigate against Oakwood Farm.
Then again, VBH BOT can follow SOS Steve Knoop’s advice at recent BOT meeting and just turn the entire matter over to the Cook County States Attorney’s office for investigation and at their discretion, criminal prosecution.
For what they have done to this village, jail would be too good for them. We want answers and the return of the wasted money! Let the chips fall where they may.
