One Barrington Hills candidates Bryan Croll, Michelle Nagy Maison and Brian Cecola have won the election for three seats on the Barrington Hills Village Board defeating incumbents Patty Meroni, Karen Selman and newcomer Mary Naumann.
Cook, Lake and Kane county residents strongly supported the “One” slate with their votes while McHenry County votes appear to have been split based on reported returns so far.
We’ll be publishing more news on the 2015 Barrington Hills election as it becomes available.
Good riddance.
There is no substitute for victory!
A victory yes but be aware they will not go away easily. Expect a recount and anticipate what damage they can do between now and their exit.
Rather than gloat, it is a wonderful day for our beloved village. Finally, we have a fighting chance to secure the legacy of Barrington Hills. It has been a long and protracted war to achieve this outcome. To all those who supported these goals, so many thanks. We look to the future with optimism, strength and vigor to make the difference in the lives of all residents of Barrington Hills!
Who’s gloating?
This victory and clean sweep by the ONE slate is also due in no small measure to the leadership of President McLaughlin. His election two years ago was a mandate for change. That change was again refelected in last night’s election results.
With a new board and majority, I am excited to see the new initiatives he will bring and new and youthful vigor that will be part of a new government. There are many talented, devoted and dedicated individuals who want to imprint their ideas to this new elected body.
To those who supported him and worked so hard, kudos to all! He has a golden opportunity to shape the village policy and create a tremendous legacy of positivity of his own, the likes that this village has to fully appreciate or comprehend. I hope that the Trustees will reach out to the public at large, as they have pledged to do so, and be ever mindful of the people who elevated them to their posts.
And finally, thanks to the Observer for staying the ethical and factual course all throughout this turbulent period with unbiased clarity of thought. Without their fair-minded reporting, we would be lost!
For now, let’s bask in the glow of VICTORY!!!
The symbolic photo of Meroni and the police at the church polling place….so apropo !
The truth the whole truth…this is part of their modus operandi, a bit of saber rattling. It wil be interesting what advice their mentor is given by Ms. Jacksack, as to the formula/percentages/margin, costs, and success of a recount.
Let’s just move forward. It’s a great opportunity for EVERYONE to heal.
I was merely being a realist – be prepared for some shenanigans……..that’s all.
Golly…….maybe we can pay our village attorney now!
Haha Gomer I bet he was watching the returns….
Golly……….maybe we can pay for a comprehensive investigation too!
How can we get to see the very photogenic Maroni at the church?
it’s here on the Observer’s website from the day of the election. she is standing there next to her signs with the police vehicle opposite.
