One Barrington Hills candidates Brian Croll, Michelle Nagy Maison and Brian Cecola introduced their campaign website last week. The link to their site can be accessed here.
In addition to the website, the candidates also have a Facebook page established which can be accessed here.
One Barrington Hills gave us three energetic, personable and well informed candidates, which distinguishes them already from the SOS.. Now it’s up to us to get them elected. Vote early, vote by mail; vote at the polls. And, bring your spouse, neighbor, friend. Please join us and make this a mission to restore respect and civility to the Village.
This great slate of Trustee candidates can only do so much it’s up to OUR RESIDENTS to get to the polls and vote. There is one thing we can agree on, we are suffering from a lack of impartiality and it needs to be corrected quickly. It doesn’t matter how many flashy photos there are of our beautiful village, or tear-jerking testimonials they have. The question remains how to correct this fiscal derailment and restore accountability once more.
Candidates of the ONE Barrington Hills party are genuinely motivated to turn things around. I will help them, and I urge my fellow residents to support their efforts in every way possible. BEST OF LUCK!
It is time to clean up the mess of the past several years – vote for new reasonable people to rescind the mistakes of the current BOT.
These three candidates are more than qualified and they are volunteering to serve our community with four years of their time unlike the SOS candidates who are running solely to continue the political agenda of a mayor resoundingly voted out of office two years ago.
I for one have had more than my share of politics in Barrington Hills that bring headlines in local papers. It’s not healthy for the village and it’s hurting our property values and esteem in surrounding communities.
Having said that, I will support Michelle, Brian and Bryan in any way possible so that we can go back to enjoying our lives here without the distractions of petty politics and subversive agendas by phantom loyalists on our Board of Trustees that only make residents suffer.
The election is only 6 weeks away. The vast majority of residents are unaware of the horror of the past 10 years. All 3 of the One Barrington Hills candidates (Croll, Cecola and Maison) must win this election or we face another 4 years of Village corruption, extreme commercial horse agenda and incompetence.
We have need of two agendas. Corruption is real and we must demand honest government. The process of commercial horse agenda is flawed. Opposition is NOT anti-horse and there are 3 equestrians running on the 1BH platform that prove that. This town needs a cleansing that can only be fixed by independent investigation that punishes any crimes and elects people not tainted by cronyism.
Marty’s endorsement of 3 equestrians is proof of his intent to support equestrian interests, but not extremes that destroy our R-1 zoning.
We must also restore sound government. Road and Bridges missed our repair targets 9 out of the last 10 years despite, that’s fact! Police Pension fund is a mess and will cost taxpayers $ millions. 911 is technically in need of immediate upgrade (according to our police Chief) and our incumbents can’t vote for prudent consolidation because Abboud wants the control. Let’s not forget that this crew gave us the Sears litigation fiasco and the Longmeadow Parkway mess.
We can’t relax. Inform your neighbors – only a small group read the Observer and will be influenced by shallow Daily Herald endorsements. Encouraging every resident to vote for Croll, Cecola and Maison, All 3 candidates winning is necessary for the future of this Village!
“Principle over Party” . . . . . . . What VBH government really needs is independent leadership willing to play fair in the sand box articulating with “loud public voice” simple principles of “right over wrong”, “legal over illegal” crafting and setting policies which best serve VBH traditions as well as the interest of “all” VBH taxpayers and residents rather than just a few.
A qualified BOT member must do the right thing even if it means losing favor with other BOT members, close friendships or being ostracized from a favorite club, group, special interest concern or God forbid not being invited to the next big social “party”.
From 2005-2013, VBH BOT was united and compliant where the subdued VBH electorate were kept ignorant and smiling all the while in the name of “saving 5 acres” BOT disabused the VBH taxpayer with record increases in spending most of it wasted and mismanaged. With Schuman Letter in 2011, it got worse. Sure, under “Save 5 Acres” BOT majority VBH was peaceful and united with VBH boardrooms and government offices filled with great activity and positive energy most of which we now know worked to the detriment of VBH taxpayer.
We do not need a “united” VBH, we need an “engaged” VBH. What VBH needs is independently thinking BOT members: whose motives are pure, willing to create strategies for reduced spending; dedicated to protection of fundamental principles of zoning code; who will listen and provide straight and honest answers to concerned residents rather than obfuscate or formulate barriers intended to minimize free politcal speech and access to government.
VBH had “Unity” and VBH was “One” for many years in the name of “Save 5 Acres” which turned out to be a complete unadulterated disaster. We do not need a repeat performance by calling upon residents to march to a single drum beat. Candidates for BOT should focus on “independence” and what he or she brings in the creation of a more dynamic “democratic republic” for VBH where more voices are encouraged to sound off with a single purpose in mind of bringing the absolute best government to residents.
After observing 4 years of waiver of independence and their blind obedience to “Save 5 Acres” dethroned leadership which continues even today, SOS Selman and Meroni are incapable of ever coming close to reaching this minimal threshold; in the end, always choosing the party over principle. Not sure about the other one except to question her poor choice of political teammates. It remains to be seen with candidates, Croll, Cecola and Maison, but we the VBH electorate for the sake of changing course, need to give them a chance.
