September 4 Special Village Board meeting agenda posted
September 2, 2014 by Barrington Hills Observer
With the special board meeting announced for this Thursday night, I am sure that Trustees Messer, Harrington, Selman and Meroni are busy practicing their lines a la Bob Abboud’s theatrical script. They will need to polish their speeches a bit more because they didn’t deliver their lines too well last time.
I’m sure they can’t wait to take some more cheap shots at Mr. Bond and the President once more time.
I’m sure the media will be waiting anxiously to report on the verbal battles once more. And Barry LeCompte will take his turn at the podium disparaging the President’s leadership.
As a resident of this village, I would hope that we could exercise some civility in our exchanges with one another. Apparently, we have a long way to go.
Maybe the time for civility is past. Skip G acted with civility during his tenure on the Village Board and was trampled on by President Abboud and Joseph Messer. Steve Knoop hammered Walter Smythe when they were Board members in the Abboud administration. Both Skip and Walter, competent and honest gentlemen, disgusted with the political atmosphere in BH, left office and gave up. McLaughlin and Konicek ran a campaign to restore balance and harmony to the Village. Since taking office, Messer, Harrington and Meroni have led the bully charge fighting them at every turn and acting anything but civil.
Sometimes a bully just needs to be punched in the nose (figuratively) to get them to stop misbehaving. Let’s get the right government agency in here to investigate the activities in our Village and put an end to corruption.
I agree with Pat that with need to support Marty with everything we’ve got! What that means is that we have to attend all these meetings and show the “Messed” up board that we are taking the village back. With all their propaganda during the last election; the Save 5 Acres caused us to lose the Duda property and it’s ultimate fate is in jeopardy.
They are not going to succeed with their commercial horse boarding, unless we let them. Everyone, come out to the board meeting Thursday it’s important to rally around Marty!! He deserves our support and respect; even though his board refuses to admit that they lost the election.
