Hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah haaaaalleeelujah.
Bringing in new counsel, especially one with expertise in municipal and zoning law, is critical for our village in my opinion. This is an extremely positive step in moving beyond the “old ways” of doing things that have led to exorbitant legal bills.
That stated I have every expectation that Gohl, Harrington, Meroni, Selman, and Messer taking the lead will fight this tooth and nail since they do not want our village to move on toward better government and this is what is critically wrong with our board. The April elections cannot come too soon for most residents who are completely fed up with the former mayor’s puppets.
Potpourri, I respectfully disagree your analysis. Even with the political divide on the Village Board, Gohl, Harrington, Meroni, Messer and Selman realize it is time to replace BH Village attorney Burke-Warren with a law firm who specailizes in municipal and zonig law at about half the hourly rate.
Any other course of action would be political suicide and misuse of taxpayer money. This is a no brainer even for the 5 political tone deaf “Save 5 Acre” Board Members. I anticipate the vote on Tuesday will be unanimous for change.

With the village board meeting on Tuesday, I think that Pres. McLaughlin is doing the right thing. One of the biggest issues in our village is “runaway” spending that hasn’t been controlled. Our spending in this village on frivolous studies, and other new hires, needs to be curtailed and cuts made across the board in all departments. Streamline and clean house.
Each board meeting ends the same way, no progress is made. This is embarrassing theater each month.
If the opposition to the President continues, the current Trustees will find that residents are not going to allow them to continue holding the President’s appointments hostage. We are going to hold them just as accountable for their actions as well as inactions at each and every monthly meeting.
President McLaughlin deserves our support! After all, he did receive the majority support in the last election.
So stop this nonsense.
