The Village of Barrington Hills and the Barrington Hills Park District will be sponsoring the first “Hills are Alive Fall Heritage Fest 2013” this Sunday, October 13th, at the Riding Center located at 361 Bateman Rd from noon to 5:00 PM.
This first ever event offers entertainment of all kinds for all ages. Anything from hay and pony rides to food and beverages will be available for Barrington Hills families. There will also be a pig roast provided by Heybeck’s Meat Market, but residents are reminded to either pick up their free tickets for the roast at Village Hall by 5:00 PM today using the flyer they received in the mail or by bringing it along to the event.
We understand that resident volunteers from local Scout troops, high school students and adults are already signed up to assist with the festival, but as with any event of this kind, there are never too many hands to help. If you wish to volunteer some of your time, while still enjoying seeing your neighbors or meeting new friends Sunday, please call Village Hall today at 847-551-3000.
The Observer wishes to acknowledge all of the positive efforts made by our elected officials on Village and Park Boards as well as those at Village Hall for making this event finally happen. We hope to see you at the fest Sunday!

President McLaughlin and Trustee Hannigan should be commended for their tireless perseverance in getting this event to finally happen despite the clearly unnecessary political legacy BS foisted at them by the other Trustees.
Thank you Marty and Colleen. You have no idea how many residents appreciate your hard work and dedication to the interests of residents and not self-serving political agendas.
