When you go on vacation, do you ever rent bikes and enjoy rides on quiet rural roads?
Do you ever wish there were some quiet rural roads closer to home so you wouldn’t have to wait for vacation?
Say hello to the Barrington Hills and South Barrington area.

If you happen to live in the city and don’t have a car remember that it is possible to take your bike on Metra. Check with them for their rates, schedule and rules. There’s a stop on the Metra line right in Barrington.
So glad someone from the trib is so irresponsible as to actually RECOMMEND bikers from all over Chicagoland ride on our roads. Unreal
Mr. Cook……………….any different than inviting horse lovers from all over Chicagoland to join the Riding Club and enjoy our horse trails?
Carlos- I live in the Hills, DO NOT own horses or belong to the riding club, but the bicyclists that run thru town, two or three wide, running stop signs, in groups of sometime two dozen plus who think they are in the Tour de France, act like the roads in town are their private bike trails. Never had that problem with the horses.
I have been spit upon and sworn at and blocked on my way to the store. We need more bikers like we need another Robert Abboud!
Well said Steve G
Speaking of horse trails…I will call my lawyer this monday and see how I can close access to the horse trailes in my real yard.
Jack – I do not think you need the assistance of an attorney. My understanding is that a written letter to the riding club stating your attention will suffice. It is up to that entity to communicate your wishes to their member. Personally – I’d copy the BHPD and ask that offenders be cited for tresspassing if any disobey or feign ignorance.
attention = intention
darn auto correct…..
