During National Public Safety Telecommunications Week, which was observed April 14-20, the Barrington Hills Police Department presented Kim Roel with a plaque honoring his 20 years of service.
Roel, a Palatine resident who officially began his career with the department in 1991, is responsible for monitoring and operating an array of equipment in the station’s communication center, including administrative and emergency telephone lines, alarms and radio channels.
