Because East Dundee won’t hold a fifth hearing to discuss the merits of an auto auction business coming to town, neighboring Barrington Hills, which opposes the project, wants to host a town-hall meeting on the issue.
A time, date and location have not been set.

Bobby Abboud is thanking his lucky stars for this “issue” coming up just in time for his campaign. Can’t wait to see what the master prevaricator will come up with to distort the facts to his liking. Maybe he can toss a few hundred thou or mil of Village dollars to the lawyers to make the act look real, just like he did in creating the phony “Save 5 Acres” issue. Residents might want to check out Saul Alinsky’s 12 Rule for Radicals to see how they are being manipulated.
I totally agree with Whoa’s comments. VBH has no business entering into this fray other than it works for Bobby and friends. Rubbing his hands together saying finally an issue I can make a deal with.(opps I meant of)
Talk about burying the lead! The last sentence is key — BH has no jurisdiction in East Dundee matters. That’s the plain and simple truth of the matter.
I do feel for the residents of Pond Gate, as their concerns about contamination of groundwater are legitimate. But, that’s why we have the Illinois EPA.
Abboud has a pattern of stirring the pot and getting up residents’ hopes in these sorts of issues when he doesn’t legal ground to stand on. All of his bluster amounts to nothing in the long run, except alienating another one of our neighboring villages and making BH look foolish in the media. Oh, and it’s making a few attorneys a lot richer too.
It’s time for new blood and new leadership before our community’s reputation is further ruined and our village coffers are empty.
I wonder how little Bobby would feel if a neighboring village became involved in some of our controversial matters or any matter. Agree BH has no jurisdiction, this is merely another of bobby’s plans to fan the flames of controversy. And if this village were truly concerned about contamination of groundwater – well they know exactly who is the culprit and they do not reside outside our village limits. Wonder if the reasoning behind not contacting the Illinois EPA is because – as is the norm in government – the entity pointing the finger gets investigated as much as the accused.
It’s sad that in 8 years Abboud has not nurtured relationships and IGA’s with surrounding communities other than those in McHenry County. That might be said of the Plan Commission too, because this auto auction should have been on the Village’s radar a year ago.
I agree with most all of the comments made. Abboud is trying to make political hay out of this but the fact is it’s too little too late. About the only thing that is transparent about Abboud’s administration is that he’s a political opportunist. Just look at the CN deal (giveaway) and how he still claims he founded TRAC. Then there were the cell towers, lighting ordinance and horse boarding. Pathetic.
